Renowned as one of Australia’s most visually talented (and best-smelling) freelance performance, comedy and VFX directors, Joshua Logue began his career in graphic design before transitioning into music video directing, live-action projects, motion graphics, and animation.
Known for his strong narrative and performance direction, he (me) excels at the casting process, crafting and developing characters that evoke laughter, tears, discomfort, or pure intrigue.
With a strong foundation in graphic design and art direction, Joshua founded the multi-disciplinary design studio Mathematics in Sydney in 2000, expanding his creative reach across various media.
As creative director, Joshua Logue honed his skills working with global powerhouses like Warner Bros. Records, Capitol Records, Sony US and UK, and Virgin. Through his studio Mathematics, he produced content across interactive design, print artwork, and motion graphics, collaborating with top-tier artists including Eric Clapton, Madonna, The Vines, Chingy, Yellowcard, Silverchair, Michael Bublé, Pink, The Sleepy Jackson, Missy Higgins, Tim McGraw, The Flaming Lips, Hot Hot Heat, Death Cab for Cutie, Slayer, and yes, even Paris Hilton!
Joshua Logue’s portfolio spans a diverse range of work, including music videos, TV commercials, documentaries, and interactive and experiential projects, as well as 2D and 3D animation. He has directed nearly 100 music videos for both international and local artists, such as Daniel Johns, Nic Cester (JET), Eves the Behavior, Josh Pyke, Tkay Maidza, Hilltop Hoods, The Living End, and Birds of Tokyo. Logue is celebrated for his conceptual brilliance on Empire of the Sun’s captivating hit ‘Walking On A Dream,’ which earned him an ARIA Award for Best Music Video.
In recent years, Joshua has made a mark in the commercial space, delivering creative campaigns for a wide range of clients, including Uber, Repco, Big W, Woolworths, Gage Road Brew Co, Origin, Samsung, Google, Foxtel, Kayo, ING, Vodafone, Subway, MAC, Matso’s, Lion Nathan, Red Rooster, Pepsi, McDonald’s, Telstra, NRL, Microsoft, Heineken, KFC and SBS.
Joshua’s work has earned him numerous industry accolades from prestigious events such as the Cannes International Advertising Festival, IdN Magazine, Shots Magazine, the St Kilda Festival, and the ARIA Awards, among others.
