Comedy, Performance and VFX/Visual Director.
Director and editor, Joshua Logue carved out a career in the design space, before moving into music video directing, live action and animation.
Armed with a background in graphic design and art direction, Joshua launched Sydney-based multi-disciplinary design studio Mathematics in 2000. The studio specialised in the music, advertising and publishing industries.
In his role as creative director, Logue worked up a taste for impressing global heavy hitters Warner Bros. Records, Capitol Records, Sony US, UK and Virgin. Producing content, interactive design, print artwork and motion graphics, Mathematics saddled up with superstars such as Eric Clapton, Chingy, Madonna, The Vines, Yellowcard, Silverchair, Michael Buble, Pink, The Sleepy Jackson, Missy Higgins, Tim McGraw, The Flaming Lips, Death Cab for Cutie, Slayer and Paris Hilton, yes Paris Hilton!
His portfolio now spans across music videos, TV commercials, documentary, interactive and experiential, 2D and 3D animation. He has directed over 90 music videos, with both international and local artists including Daniel Johns, Eves the Behavior, Josh Pyke, Tkay Maidza, Hilltop Hoods, The Living End and Birds of Tokyo. Logue is highly saluted for his conceptual vision on Empire of the Sun’s mesmerising hit ‘Walking On A Dream’, which gained him an ARIA for Best Music Video.
Joshua's performance and narrative skills lay in creating or developing characters that make us laugh, cry, cringe or just weird us out.
Over the past few years, Josh has been busy in the commercials space producing clever results for local clients, Bose, Google, Toyota, MAC, Lion Nathan, McDonald's, Telstra, NRL, Stellar Magazine, Cancer Institute, Microsoft, Heineken, MTV, Tim Tams, KFC, SBS, ABC, Royal Life Saving Association, Masters Milk, Microsoft, Nestle, Splendour in the Grass and AIM. He has directed cross-platform campaigns for VISA, ING, Mountain Dew, Virgin Airlines, Samsung, Optus, Commonwealth Bank, Lynx, Vodafone, Tourism Tasmania, Nando’s, Hungry Jack’s and SBS World Movies.
Joshua is also a partner in the Sydney based music composition company Electric Sheep Music, specialising in TVCs, film, documentary, gaming and all things sound.
Joshua is adorned with many industry accolades, from the Cannes Int. Advertising Festival, IdN Magazine, Shots Magazine, the St Kilda Festival and the ARIA Awards, to name drop a few.
